Building Resilience as You Age

Thursday 06/21/2018 05:30 PM - 07:00 PM
St. Joseph Village of Chicago
4021 W. Belmont Avenue, Chicago, IL 60641

Presented by Trish Abbey, In-Home Counseling for Seniors

Resilience is the ability to successfully adapt to challenging life situations. We will all face a range of challenges and setbacks as we move through life, and these can compound as adults become seniors. The good news is that we’re never too old to strengthen resilience by learning new skills and coping strategies that can change the way we think about and respond to adversity.
*Attendees will be able to define resilience and understand its importance in successful aging.
*Attendees will be able to identify how strengthening resilience can help older adults cope with increasing medical issues and life stressors.
*Attendees will be able to identify at least 3 strategies to build, strengthen, and maintain resilience.
