Who is the Client? Ethical Issues When Working with Individuals with Diminished Capacity

Speaker: Lauren A. Weldon
Ms. Weldon is a partner at Margolis Weldon, LLC, and has extensive experience in elder law including estate planning, long-term care, Medicaid and VA planning, and trust administration.

Join us for a discussion of the legal and ethical considerations nurses and social workers face when working with clients with dementia and other cognitive impairments. We’ll discuss the legal aspects of determining who you represent, as well as the differences between agents, Powers of Attorney, guardians and family members. We’ll also examine the NASW Code of Ethics as it relates to clients with diminished capacity.

At the completion of this program, social workers and RNs will receive 1 CEU. CEUs provided by Elderwerks.
