Alzheimer's Support Group

This support group meets on the second Wednesday of each month.

For care partners of people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

The Barrington Area Council on Aging offers a variety of support and education groups. New attendees are requested to register before attending the group. Call (847) 381-5030 to register.

~ Early-Stage Memory Loss - A ten-week class that addresses specific issues concerning memory loss. This is for people with early-stage memory loss and their care partners.

~ Powerful Tools for Caregivers - A six-week class that teaches caregivers how to cope with the stress of caregiving. It is for caregivers only and emphasizes the importance of self-care for caregivers.

~ Take Charge of Your Health AND Take Charge of Your Diabetes - six-week class for people with chronic disease. It focuses on self-care management.

~ When I’m 64 - A three-part seminar, meeting weekly, that discusses Social Security, Medicare, and Veterans benefits.

~ Making Sense of Memory Loss - A five-week class that addresses memory-loss issues

~ Total Memory Workout - A six session class focusing on understanding and improving memory function and long term brain health in cognitively healthy adults
